To create a new metadata value, first click New Metadata button in the command bar. This will bring up the Create Metadata panel, where you must fill in the appropriate fields.

Part - From the dropdown, choose the appropriate Part for which the metadata will belong to. For example, if you wish to add a new Level to your project, select Level from the Part drop down.

Value - This represents the value that is assigned to either a Record/Office Document or Revision. Metadata values can be used for the parts that make up a Document Number e.g. Type, Zone or Level or they may be used for additional metadata such as Size, Scale or Document Group.

Title - This represents the display name for a metadata value. For example, if a Level metadata value was 00 the Title might be 'Ground Floor'. Making the Title descriptive allows users to find and search for the correct metadata value.

Default for Records - If this checkbox is ticked, this piece of metadata will be the suggested value in the dropdown when creating empty Records or uploading files.

Default for Office Documents - If this checkbox is ticked, this piece of metadata will be automatically set for any Office Document created from a Template.

Once all values are filled in, click Create at the bottom of the panel.
